Debian can be installed on the Linkstation Pro. Here are some recommanded steps that can be found on the wiki :
- Make sure to read everything first ! The installation order is very important. You could end up bricking your unit if something goes wrong.
- Modify the partitions first (Important : Do not touch /dev/sda1 !)
- Install Initrd-Only
- Install Freelink
- Format /dev/sda5 and /dev/sda6 (xfs is recommanded performance wise)
- You can go on configuring the NAS : webmin and samba, torrentflux with transmissioncli or ctorrent, mldonkey, lighthttpd, sqlite...
Digital Media players/streamers
